Get ready to ride the wave! British-Bengali artist Tara Lily has teamed up with the one and only King Krule for a brand-new track, "Tropical Storm." This collaboration promises to be a dreamy, mellow experience, as Lily herself describes it as "a lucid dream playing in our minds again and again." Intrigued? Listen to the song below!
This exciting single is the first taste of Lily's upcoming EP, Quiet Nights (Early Takes). Set to be released on November 7th via Tru Thoughts, the EP is described by Lily as a collection of early, raw sketches from a particularly introspective period. She explains that it was a time of "stripping back, dropping down into the ground and channelling something raw and real." This EP follows her debut album, Speak in the Dark, which was released last year.
But here's where it gets interesting... King Krule, also known as Archy Marshall, has been keeping busy! His most recent album, Space Heavy, dropped in 2023 and delved into themes of love and fatherhood. Following that, he released the concert film Youāll Never Guess What Happened Next and the four-song EP Shhhhhhh! in 2024. It seems like the creative flow is strong with this one!
And this is the part most people miss... Remember King Krule's acclaimed album The OOZ? It was even featured at number 60 in "The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s." For a deeper dive into his artistry, you can revisit Jazz Monroeās interview, "King Krule: The Wizard of Ooz."
