The evening was particularly special as it honored the legendary Serena Williams with the Giving Tree Award. But here's where the impact truly resonates: Over the past 14 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over half a billion essential items, including diapers, formula, and clothing, to children in need across the nation. This is a testament to their unwavering commitment. Following the devastating L.A. fires, the organization stepped up, distributing over 31 million emergency supplies to affected families. Baby2Baby Co-CEOs Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof emphasized the importance of recognizing that need knows no boundaries, serving children from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
Looking ahead, Baby2Baby is building a new national headquarters and warehouse in Santa Monica, set to open in 2027. Furthermore, a recent $9 million grant from the state of New York will provide essential postpartum items to all 100,000 mothers giving birth on Medicaid in the state next year. Patricof highlighted the critical issue of maternal mental health, which is now the leading cause of maternal mortality in the country. The program aims to address the mental health struggles of new mothers who may not be able to afford the necessary items for their babies.
