Dreaming of treading the boards and inspiring young minds? The REV Theatre Company's 'REV on Tour' is seeking a male and a female swing performer for their upcoming season, offering a unique opportunity to bring the magic of theatre directly to students across New York State. This isn't just a job; it's a chance to make a real difference!
What's the gig? You'll be part of one of the largest in-school tour programs, reaching approximately 60,000 students annually. The REV on Tour crafts tailored performances and workshops for various grade levels, all delivered within the school building. This program has a long-standing tradition of excellence, providing access to high-quality theatrical experiences for every child in NYS.
Here's the scoop:
- Roles: You'll be covering roles in multiple shows, including 'An Itsy Bitsy Play' (Kindergarten), 'Echoes' (Grades 6-8), and 'Improv for All' (Grades 9-12) for the male swing. The female swing will cover 'Huff and Puff: A Pig Tale' and 'Improv for All'. Both swings will also be trained for the 'Careers in the Arts' Workshops for grades 3, 4, and 5.
- Schedule: Tours depart daily from Auburn, NY. Expect two shows a day, Monday through Friday. Rehearsals will be followed by evenings and weekends off.
- Responsibilities: Besides performing, you'll assist with set up/take down, drive the company vehicle (clean driver's license required), and lead in-classroom workshops.
- Contract Details: The contract starts with in-person arrival in Auburn, NY on January 4th, 2026, with the first rehearsal on January 5th, 2026. The contract runs until May 1st, 2026, with a possible extension to May 8th, 2026.
- Training: You'll receive paid remote training at a rate of $16.00 per hour (not to exceed 16 hours).
- Compensation: $501.05 per week.
But here's where it gets interesting... The REV on Tour is a demanding yet rewarding experience. You'll be working directly with young audiences, and your ability to adapt and connect will be key.
